Places

From Fuestrup to Kiel

Fuestrup

In Fuestrup there is an old stream of the Elbe, and here in the Marina they have a handdrivven ferry across this stream. It's supposed to be the only handdrivven ferry across a federal waterway in Germany.

Münster

In Münster I stopped for buying fuel and food.

Senden

The harbour of Yachtclub Kranecamp in Senden.

Datteln

Bibbi in Datteln with the "Sperrtor" in the background.

Herne

This amazing stone is turning around on water in the Herne center.
The Strünkede castle in Herne is a real beauty.

Bochum

At the railwaystation in Bochum I picked up Wolfgang and Ruud.

Ruhrort

In the Eisenbahnhafen of Ruhrort the Ruhrorter Yacht Club have a harbour, where I could stay.

Duisburg

The railwaystation in Duisburg, where Wolfgang and Ruud started their journeys home.

Tolkamer

The "Jachthaven de Bijland" in Tolkamer in the Netherlands. The first Dutch harbour for me on this trip.

Zutphen

The city hall of Zutphen.

By the Walburgiskerk is the old public library from 1564. It's still in original shape and all the 750 handwritten books are still chained to their desks.
The Walburgiskerk, with the famous organ, has been completely restored indoors in recent years. This is celebrated throughout 1998.

Kampen

A typical view in the old city-center of Kampen.

Cellebroederspoort is only one of many city-gates of this old Hansa-town.

Urk

Urk is the most western place, E5.35.755, I will visit on this trip. I got into this harbour by the IJsselmeer to get fuel.

Grou

Grou is a cute little town by the Prinses Margriet Kanaal. This is the pedestrian street.

Groningen

This is the Sint Martins church by the Grote Markt in Groningen.
The Groningen Museum on an island in the Verbindningskanaal.

Delfzijl

The old mill in the towncentre and in the marketplace in front of it there was a amusement park when we came to town.
On the beach there is a hotel built to resist even the highest tide-water.

Papenburg

The lock of Papenburg on Whitsun Monday when everybody must get back home.

Oldenburg

The castle of Oldenburg.
The city hall of Oldenburg.

Bremerhaven

In Bremerhaven we found the first - and oldest - private yachtharbour in Germany, the Nordsee-Yachting, where we bought diesel.
And the night we spent in a club-harbour by the tidal barrier on river Geeste.

Bederkesa

The church in Bederkesa.

Otterndorf

The lock of Otterndorf, where we moored next to a Danish boat on it's way to France.

Kiel/Holtenau

The yachtharbour by the lock in Kiel/Holtenau.
The old lighthouse in Holtenau.
